I'm a guider who has been checking lists......Indoor Res with Guides next weekend. Unfortunately the leader who acts as QM. is having an operation and won't be with us....she will be missed. Wide Game for first night has been organised and an Escape Room type of activity has been sorted by the daughter of one of the other leaders for the 2nd night. Route for walk sorted just stuff for daytime activities to be gathered together. Only 12 girls attending this time as I mistakenly booked for the end of half term and some are away on holiday, so could be a nice quiet one!!!!
I'm a guider who hasn't been on here for a long time, so hello everyone
Also a guider who has just gone back to work full time in a new role, has a poorly assistant leader and YLs who are not always available now that they are starting to prep for exams. So feeling a bit stretched at times to say the least, but we have supportive parents and it makes me smile each week, so on we plough.
I tend to agree, it appears to be young leaders below 16, that I can see....but there are other issues. Some pre-warrant service appears to have vanished too. It is worth everyone checking their own records....
Although I have just seen a Scouter celebrate it being the anniversary of the foundation of Scouting. I know they call it founders day after BP because it was his birthday but was Scouting also officially founded then (or was Scouter confused?).
I'm a Guider wishing everyone a happy WTD... it even got a mention on Radio 2 this morning, also welcome to our new Chief Guide who's role officially starts today...you never know she may be a forum member or a lurker..
I believe it is regarded as Founders Day to celebrate the founder rather than the founding...and like us concentrates on celebrating the organisation and all that it offers.
I’m a Guider who wonders if the advertising company for the Royal Navy is the same one that did our last recruitment campaign! Or if someone on their team was involved did with Guiding as Guiding previously was mentioned in an ad.
I’m a Guider who’s had a new one on her regarding membership cards…Each year as we all know there always seems to be someone who randomly misses out. This year one of my UHs has yet to receive one...another has been sent two!
It’s been useful though because we now have a spare copy of all the GDPA information booklets to keep in the unit folder.
